Police raid NE massage parlor

Jennifer Bruzas

Community complaints led to a police raid on a Far Northeast massage parlor that was being operated as a house of prostitution, police said last Thursday.

Officers from the City Wide Vice Unit arrested Jennifer Bruzas, 26, of the 4800 block of Van Kirk St. in Wissinoming during the March 5 raid. She was charged with prostitution, solicitation and practicing massage without a license.

Vice cops began an investigation of the Renew Beauty Day Spa at 12003 Roosevelt Blvd. last month in response to complaints of prostitution. The site is at the intersection of Comly Road near a gas station, car wash, cheesesteak shop and nightclub. An undercover cop returned to the spa on March 5 and was offered sex in exchange for money, police said. No other arrests were announced. ••
