Armed bandit holds up sneaker store

Robbers usually like to make a quick getaway, but that didn’t prevent one Northeast bandit from taking his time before he held up a sneaker store at Roosevelt Mall on June 10.

The unidentified crook spent about 20 minutes browsing the displays at Foot Action, 2329 Cottman Ave., before approaching a cashier, pulling out a gun and demanding money, as well as clothing. The robber made off with cash and some new threads, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured the heist. The robber was described as black, 35 to 40 years old, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and about 250 pounds. He wore a dark blue hoodie, black pants and black boots.
