Pete

Sweetie wants to snuggle with you

Sweetie is a beautiful, brindle-colored, 45-pound, 1- to 2-year-old terrier mix who is at Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. Her tag number is A21976794.

The dog loves people and appreciates affection. This is her second time at the shelter, and she is really hoping to find a permanent home. She was adopted in March, but her owner had to move to a place that did not allow dogs, and he was very upset to have to surrender her.

Sweetie is very intelligent and listens well. She seems to be housetrained and is extremely talented at fetch. She loves to go for rides. She knows the commands “sit” and “drop it” and takes treats very gently. She does not get along with other dogs.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Precious Pete

Pete is an affectionate 4-year-old cat who was rescued after he was spotted living outside for at least a week. He is in foster care via Northeast Animal Rescue.

The cat is friendly and playful. He loves head scratches and being brushed. He’s already neutered and front declawed.

Pete is current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses.
