Gunman sought in Morrell Park Sunoco heist

A gunman wearing a red bandana robbed a Sunoco gas station and mini mart in Morrell Park early Monday.

A clerk from the store told police that an unknown man entered the business at 10000 Frankford Ave. at about 3:20 a.m., pointed a black handgun at the employee and demanded money, said Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detectives. The clerk handed an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes to the robber, who was last seen fleeing southbound on the 9900 block of Hegerman St.
