Philadelphia police have released surveillance video of the brief but frightening encounter in hope that the public will help them identify the bandit. The heist occurred shortly before 8 p.m. at Dunkin Donuts, 6401 Roosevelt Blvd. The robber wore a hood, a scarf and sunglasses to conceal his appearance as he approached the sales counter and lifted his jacket to reveal a handgun in his waistband. The robber demanded cash from the clerk, who placed a wad of bills on the counter.

About 55 seconds after his arrival, the crook exited the store and fled northbound on Roosevelt Boulevard, police said. He was described as white with a dark green hooded jacket, black sunglasses and a black scarf covering his mouth and nose. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com to see the video. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. In an emergency, call 911. ••
