Woman critically injured after being run over by her own car

A 46-year-old woman was critically injured when she was run over by her own car late Friday afternoon outside the Klein JCC on Jamison Avenue near Red Lion Road, police said.

The woman parked her 2007 Honda outside the community center at about 5:39 p.m. on Dec. 19, police said, but noticed it was still moving after she got out of the car. She positioned herself in front of the vehicle to attempt to stop it, but it continued forward, knocking the woman to the ground and rolling over her until it ran into a 2013 Volkswagen and stopped.

A witness ran over to the Honda, put it in park and shut it off. The injured woman was trapped until she was rescued by Fire Department personnel, police said. She was taken to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus in critical condition. ••
