Now that the 2015 elections are over, candidates will be gearing up for the April 26, 2016 primary.
Voters will nominate candidates for president, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, along with state attorney general, treasurer, auditor general, Senate and House.
One of the top local races will be in the 170th Legislative District. Rep. Martina White, a Republican, won a special election last year.
Democrats will be gunning for her in 2016, and at least two candidates will likely enter the primary.
White recently held a fundraiser at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5. Guests included state Rep. John Taylor (R-177th dist.) and John McNesby, president of the local FOP. ••
