Friends of Poquessing Watershed announce final cleanup of 2015

Six volunteers participated in the monthly park cleanup event organized by the Friends of Poquessing Watershed on Nov. 14.

The workers removed eight bags of litter and one bag of recyclable cans, along with many larger items of debris, such as a car tire, a garage door part, an American flag, a six-pack cooler, a metal chair, lumber, a bocce ball, model airplane glue, clothing, political campaign signs, plumbing, two shopping baskets and a hairdryer.

Volunteers included Hans Brolinson, Patty McCarthy, Walter Philippi, Margaret Philippi, Bob Parncutt and Tony Gordon.

The final cleanup of 2015 will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Potter’s Field, Dunks Ferry and Mechanicsville roads. The site is an unmarked wooded area across the street from the Parkwood Youth Organization gym.

Those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The rain date is Dec. 13. Visit www.friendsofpoquessing.org for information. ••
