Spike of burglaries reported in Somerton

Police in the 7th district warned Somerton residents on Tuesday about a spike in residential burglaries in one section of the community.

A map Tweeted by the @PPD07Dist account showed the locations of four recent home break-ins. They occurred on the 300 block of Woodhaven Road (even addresses), the 100 block of Gardner St., the 200 block of Ridgeway Plaza and near the intersection of Nandina and Halstead streets.

The 7th district Tweeted the message, “There has been an increase in residential burglaries in PSA (Police Service Area) 3, please remember to secure your doors and windows.”

Call 911 to report a crime in progress or suspicious activity in progress. Call the 7th district at 215–686–3070 to report information about a pattern of suspicious activity in the neighborhood. ••
