Nominations are being accepted for the fifth induction class of the Northeast Philadelphia Hall of Fame.
Readers can nominate living people, historical figures and institutions.
The deadline is April 8.
A selection committee will choose the latest inductees. The induction ceremony will take place on Oct. 16 at Holy Family University.
Nominations can be mailed to Northeast Times, 3412 Progress Drive, Suite C, Bensalem, PA 19020.
The North-east Phil-adelphia Hall of Fame is sponsored by Glen Foerd on the Delaware, Holy Fam-ily Uni-versity, the North-east Times, the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the His-tor-ic-al So-ci-ety of Frank-ford.
The following people have already been inducted: Thomas Holme; Benjamin Rush; Robert Purvis; Henry and Mary Disston; St. Katharine Drexel; Harry Silcox; Butch Ballard; Tom Gola; Joan Krajewski; Sister Mary Scullion; Frank Shuman; the Rev. Leon Sullivan; Ed Kelly; Chris Ferguson; Virginia Knauer; Stephen Decatur Sr. and Stephen Decatur Jr.; Pat Stopper; and Chris Matthews.
Other inductees have been Aid For Friends, Special People In Northeast Inc., KleinLife and the following historic houses of worship: Unity Monthly Meeting Frankford, Byberry Monthly Meeting, Pennepack Baptist Church, Trinity Church Oxford, Presbyterian Church of Frankford and Campbell African Methodist Episcopal Church. ••
