Employee hit twice, dies at NE car wash

A towel man at a Bustleton car wash died at about noon on Monday mere minutes after he was struck by two customers’ vehicles in rapid succession.

Police did not disclose the identity of the victim, who was 22. The cause of the fatal accident is not known.

It happened at about 11:52 a.m. at Krewsin Klean Car Wash, 9201 Krewstown Road. The victim was wiping the rear window of one vehicle when a gray Dodge Durango struck him, then a 2004 Honda Accord struck him. The Accord had just exited the car wash, police said. The Durango’s prior movements were not detailed.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene at 11:59 a.m. Authorities have not released the names of the drivers involved. No arrests were made. In addition to conducting their own investigation, police notified the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. ••
