An Oxford Circle woman gave Channel 6 viewers an up-close view of how gunmen invaded her home when she submitted surveillance video of the Oct. 11 break-in to the station’s news program.
Police are still trying to identify the culprits, who made off with her husband’s gun and about $275 cash.
It happened on the 1300 block of Hellerman St. at about 7:45 p.m. A couple in their 40s was at home when, the wife said, a man burst through the front door and pointed a gun at her. She screamed for her husband, who is legally blind. When the husband went for his gun, which was sitting on a dining room table, the invader threatened to shoot him, according to the woman victim. A second bandit then entered the house as the crooks rifled through the husband’s pockets. Both intruders then fled. The victims were not injured.
Police described one suspect as black with a white knit cap, tan button-up shirt, wool jacket, jeans and sneakers. The accomplice was described as black with a black hoodie, black pants and tan boots. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to report information. ••
