Damp and blustery conditions didn’t discourage hundreds of Northeast children and their parents from revelling in Halloween fun on Saturday during the 8th Police District Advisory Council’s annual Fall Festival at the 8th district police station.
Kids dressed up for the occasion as Dracula, Pokemon, Nemo and Ms. Pac-Man were among the popular costumes. Parkwood Therapeutic Riding Academy provided pony rides, while many area merchants supplied snacks and candy. PDAC members and police officers turned the inside of the police station into a haunted house where ghouls and goblins howled from the jail cells.
The festival was free to attend, but generated funding through raffles and donations. Proceeds will support the PDAC, which is a civilian committee acting as a liaison between the police district and the community. ••
