A woman was discovered dead in her apartment on Greeby St. with suspicious wounds on her face and neck.
Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a 53-year-old woman whose body was found inside her Castor Gardens apartment on May 1.
Authorities have not identified the woman publicly. She lived on the 1400 block of Greeby St. Her brother told police that he had not heard from the woman in several days so he went to her apartment that afternoon. He knocked on her door, but heard no response, so he used a ladder to climb into the second-floor unit through a window.
He found his sister lying unresponsive on a sofa. She had suspicious wounds of the face and neck. There was drug paraphernalia near the body. He called 911. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene at 3:24 p.m.
The cause and manner of death have not been determined. ••
