Surveillance cameras recorded the culprit and his companion on July 7 while they walked along the 7300 block of Oxford Avenue.
An unidentified vandal tried to use an innocent dog as his cover story for a recent graffiti spree targeting Chuck’s Alibi restaurant in Burholme, Philadelphia police say.
Surveillance cameras recorded the culprit and his unwitting companion on July 7 at about 2:45 a.m. while they walked along the 7300 block of Oxford Avenue. As the tandem passed the seafood restaurant, the suspect appeared to use a spray can to scrawl paint on the wall. The graffitist was last seen leading his dog northbound on Oxford Avenue.
Due to the night-vision recording, it’s difficult to determine a description of the suspect from the video, but he appears to be a white man with a mustache and scruffy beard along with tattoos on his forearms. He wore a t-shirt with a script logo on the front, baggy basketball shorts and dark sneakers. His dog appeared to be a pitbull terrier variety.
