Services announced for local community activist

Brill

Longtime neighborhood activist Lorraine Brill died on Saturday.

Brill’s funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael Sacks Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike in Southampton.

Interment will be in Shalom Memorial Park in Huntingdon Valley.

Brill was predeceased by her husband, Martin. She is survived by daughters Joni and Ilene, son David and grandsons Jared and Alan.

Contributions in her memory may be made to The Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation or The Alumnae Association of The Philadelphia High School for Girls (Girls High).

Brill was best known as the longtime president of the Upper Northwood Community Council. She was active with the city’s District 10 health center and as a proponent of public transportation and safety for motorists and pedestrians on Roosevelt Boulevard. ••
