Verizon donates $10,000 to local school

Calvary Christian Academy received the donation.

An A+: Verizon recently donated $10,000 to Calvary Christian Academy, 13500 Philmont Ave. Frank Buzydlowski, Verizon’s director of state government affairs, presented a check from the state Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. Buzydlowski was joined by City Councilman Brian O’Neill, state Sen. John Sabatina Jr. and state Rep. Martina White. The EITC program gives business tax credits when those companies donate money to scholarship programs that give students in kindergarten through 12th grade the opportunity to attend the school of their choosing.
