The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Dec. 11 through Dec. 26

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were 21 reported robberies in the time period, 14 of which took place on the street. Six took place at businesses and involved handguns, including one at a drugstore located at 1400 Hellerman St. (Dec. 15); 6800 Bustleton Ave. (Dec. 15) which resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Luis Rodriguez; 700 Adams Ave. (Dec. 15); 6600 Castor Ave. (Dec. 19); 1100 Cottman Ave. (Dec. 21); and a cleaner, tailor or laundromat at 7300 Bustleton Ave. (Dec. 21). There was also one incident involving a handgun that took place at a private residence located on at 6900 Souder St. (Dec. 19).

Four of the 10 reported aggravated assaults took place in private residences. A Dec. 17 assault at 300 Magee Ave. resulted in the arrest of 29-year-old Shareef Ahmad, and a Dec. 19 assault at 900 Sanger St. resulted in the arrest of 51-year-old Alex Chris Drinks. The domestic assaults at a residence at 6000 Hasbrook Ave. on Dec. 12 and 2100 Brighton St. on Dec. 20 did not lead to any arrests. Five assaults took place on the street, including an incident at 1200 Robbins St. involving a handgun (Dec. 20); 5300 Howland St. (Dec. 21) involving a handgun; two incidents at 200 Howell St. (Dec. 24) involving a knife; and one on Castor Ave. in Oxford Circle (Dec. 15). There was also an incident at a public school at 1600 Cottman Ave. (Dec. 21).

There were 12 reported burglaries, all of which happened at private residences. Thirty-year-old Shane White was arrested on Dec. 12 after four burglary attempts, three of which happened at at 800 Ripley St. Other incidents included burglaries at 1400 Higbee St. (Dec. 21); 300 Van Kirk St. (Dec. 11); 600 Garland St. (Dec. 17); 1200 Greeby St. (Dec. 18); 2000 Griffith St. (Dec. 19); 300 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Dec. 19); 900 Griffith St. (Dec. 12), which White was also involved in; 2000 Glenview St. (Dec. 18); and an attempt at 5300 Howland St. (Dec. 20).

Of the 87 reported thefts in the time period, 51 of them took place on the street, with thefts from cars accounting for most of them. There were 28 thefts from businesses, five from private residences or apartment houses, and one from a PLCB-licensed establishment. There were two thefts of more than $200 from public schools located at 7000 Horrocks St. (Dec. 15) and 1600 Cottman Ave. (Dec. 19). In addition, there were 25 vehicles reported stolen, 15 of which have been recovered.

7th Police District

The only reported robbery took place at a chain store located at 9800 Bustleton Ave. on Dec. 17. There was also only one aggravated assault, which took place on the street of 8400 Verree Road on Dec. 12 and involved a shotgun. The assault lead to the arrest of 61-year-old George Strauss.

The three reported burglaries took place at an apartment house at 8000 Ryers Ave. (Dec. 16), a private residence at 13000 Worthington Road (Dec. 21) and an unlisted location at 2600 Southampton Road (Dec. 16). No arrests were made.

There were 40 reported thefts in the time period, 15 of which were taken from vehicles. Nine of them took place at businesses, three at a bar, cafe or private club, three at apartment houses or private residences, and one at a public school located at 10100 Bustleton Ave. In addition, there were three vehicles reported stolen, one of which was recovered and resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Rondell Stevenson.

8th Police District

Four robberies were reported during the time period, including two that took place on the street of 3600 Durmore Drive (Dec. 12) and 1400 Franklin Mills Circle (Dec. 23). An incident involving a handgun took place at a furniture store located at 8900 Frankford Ave. on Dec. 22. There was also a bank robbery at 2500 Welsh Road that took place on Dec. 22.

Two aggravated assaults were reported during the time period. One incident involving a handgun took place on the street of 2800 Maxwell St. on Dec. 23. There was also a domestic assault that took place in a private residence at 8000 Leon St. on Dec. 17 which resulted in the arrest of 46-year-old Kaylee Cuadra.

Seven of the nine reported burglaries took place at a private residence or apartment house. These happened at 3100 Mechanicsville Road (Dec. 11); 2700 Willits Road (Dec. 13); 8700 Gillespie St. (Dec. 19); 12300 Medford Road (Dec. 20); 2800 Walnut Hill St. (Dec. 13); 8800 Holme Drive 2 (Dec. 14); and 8400 Torresdale Ave. (Dec. 18). There was also a burglary at an unlisted location at 9800 Blue Grass Road (Dec. 14) and at a commercial garage at 8700 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 14).

There were 58 thefts reported during the time period, including 41 that happened at a store or business and 17 from vehicles. In addition, there were three vehicles reported stolen, one of which was recovered.

15th Police District

There were 19 reported robberies in the time period, 15 of which took place on the street. Three incidents took place at private residences located at 2900 Levick St. (Dec. 18) which resulted in the arrest of 44-year-old Sireen Gallagher; 1600 Margaret St. (Dec. 19) which resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Avery Bracey; and 4300 Leiper St. (Dec. 17) which resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Nicholas McMonagle. There was also an incident at a chain store located at 5800 Torresdale Ave. on Dec. 12 that involved a handgun.

Of the 19 reported aggravated assaults, 13 of them took place on the street. Notable instances included two assaults that took place at 4700 Meridian St. on Dec. 14 that involved a handgun, which resulted in the arrests of 23-year-old Wazeer Ewell and 39-year-old Fatimah Martin. There was also an outdoor assault at 1700 Unity St. which resulted in the arrest of 58-year-old Anthony E. Bing, and an incident at 2200 Pratt St. on Dec. 17 which resulted in the arrest of 49-year-old Tracey White. Five of the assaults took place at private residences, and one took place at a public school located at 2000 Wakeling St. on Dec. 12.

Nineteen of the 21 reported burglaries in the time period took place at private residences or apartment houses. An attempt at a residence at 4600 Mulberry St. (Dec. 21) resulted in the arrests of 42-year-old Cynthia Cynthia and 32-year-old Jose Feliciano; an attempt at 7200 Hegerman St. (Dec. 20) resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Bradford Jones; and an attempt at 5300 Saul St. resulted in the arrests of 28-year-old Kia Baptist and 37-year-old Charlene McField. There were also burglaries at an auto dealer at 6500 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 15) and an auto parts store at 1100 Adams Ave. (Dec. 22).

Of the 99 reported thefts, 37 happened on the street, 30 were stolen from vehicles, 17 happened in businesses, and 11 happened in private residences. There was also a theft from a bank at 4500 Loring St. (Dec. 16), a public school at 5000 Oxford Ave. (Dec. 15), and a SEPTA station at 4600 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 12). In addition, there were 43 vehicles reported stolen, 28 of which have been recovered. ••
