A Frankford man turned himself in to the Special Victims Unit after abducting a child in Frankford on Monday, June 25.

Police say they received a call from a 21-year-old black female at 9:40 p.m. She had gotten into an argument with her acquaintance, Jared Montgomery, 24, while standing at a bus stop. Montgomery grabbed her 2-year-old baby and ran.

The female chased him, but was unable to catch up.

Police searched his last known address of 1300 Pratt St. as Pennsylvania State Police sent out an AMBER Alert.

The child was found unharmed at Jefferson Frankford Hospital, where the abductor dropped him off and fled. He turned himself in to Special Victims Unit later.

The investigation is ongoing. ••
