The Northeast Times would like to congratulate the following college graduates, students who were named to their school’s dean’s list, and area residents who recently received special honors.
Three local students at Lehigh University attained dean’s list. This status is granted to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses. Local honorees are Xiaowei Chen, Angel Chen and David Tapia.
Priscilla Kumah was named to the Marist College dean’s list. She is a member of the class of 2021 and majors in business administration at Marist, in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Local residents were among more than 1,650 students named to the University of Scranton’s dean’s list. The dean’s list recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better during the semester to make the dean’s list.
The students are Jared J. Keenan, a freshman marketing major in the university’s Kania School of Management; Brigid S. McMullen, a sophomore occupational therapy major in the university’s Panuska College of Professional Studies; Stas W. Postowski and Phoebe Thomas, sophomore marketing majors in the Kania School of Management; and Erik T. Rispo, a senior accounting major in the Kania School of Management.
Karen Graham has been named to the Central Penn College dean’s list. Graham is majoring in business administration. To qualify for the designation, an undergraduate student must carry six or more credits and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better for the term.
Local students have been named to Alvernia University’s dean’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits. Honorees are Remi Adekanbi (World Communications Charter School graduate, healthcare science major, senior), Kiona Bryant (Faith Connection Christian Academy, behavioral health, freshman), John Dlugosz (Roman Catholic, nursing, senior), Erica Forston (Martin Luther King, criminal justice, junior), Alexis Gomez (New Foundations Charter School, criminal justice, sophomore), Kirstin Gonzaga (Archbishop Ryan, marketing, senior), Victoria Gowland (Little Flower, occupational therapy, senior), Kira Griffenberg (MaST Community Charter School, forensic science, sophomore), Amanda Krier (New Foundations, early childhood education preK-4 with special education preK-8, senior), LaRhonda Muslim (social work, junior) and Anraghie Williams (healthcare science, senior).
A total of 11,347 students at the University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). Emma Nicole Brown made the president’s list. Kaitlin M. Buck made the dean’s list.
Vince Darmohray, who is in the biotechnology and molecular bioscience program, made the dean’s list at Rochester Institute of Technology. Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for dean’s list if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” “D” or “F;” and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
Rochester Institute of Technology held its 133rd annual commencement celebration. Local students who graduated were Louis Morrone of Philadelphia (design and imaging technology.degree) and Deana Worrell (applied liberal arts).
Akshan Shah, an Ithaca College student, was named to the dean’s list.
