Updates included illegal truck parking complaints and increased community outreach.
Capt. Robert Zaffino, acting 2nd Police District commander, joined community relations officer Mark Mroz at last week’s Lawncrest Community Association meeting.
Zaffino is filling in for Capt. Thomas McLean, who is on a 10-week assignment at the FBI.
The acting captain promised to address a complaint of illegal truck parking. He has also been promoting officer outreach to the community and scheduling more foot beats.
The district made an arrest after a report of gunfire on the 6900 block of Rising Sun Ave. late on the evening of July 13.
One challenge remains cracking down on tire thefts, many from Honda Accord sport models.
