Police looking for suspect who robbed Mayfair bank

Authorities are searching for a man they say robbed a bank Friday afternoon in Mayfair.

The suspect entered the M&T Bank at 7121 Frankford Ave. around 3:15 p.m. and threatened to use a gun, police said. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading toward Charles Street on foot, according to authorities.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his mid-20s to early 30s. He is around 5 feet 8 inches with a medium build and a scruffy brown beard. During the robbery, he was wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, blue knit hat, blue jeans and gold-rimmed glasses with clear lenses, according to police. He also used a white T-shirt to cover his face.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect to call the FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force at 215–418–4000. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
