Crime log: Nov. 14, 2018

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Oct. 29 through Nov. 11

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were 20 robberies, most of which took place on the street. Robberies that took place on the street involving handguns took place at 6500 Martins Mill Road (Nov. 1), 6900 Oakland St. (Nov. 4), 400 Comly St. (Nov. 5), 600 Sanger St. (Nov. 7) and 7200 Kindred St. (Nov. 7). Robberies that took place on the street that did not involve weapons happened at three times at 2200 Cottman Ave. (Oct. 29, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8), the intersection of Bustleton Avenue and Knorr Street (Oct. 30), 7200 Kindred St. (Nov. 1), 6700 Castor Ave. (Nov. 1), 6600 Castor Ave. (Nov. 5), 6400 Oxford Ave. (Nov. 7), the intersection of Bleigh Avenue and Leonard Street (Nov. 11) and a vehicle at 1900 Hartel Ave. (Nov. 3). Other robberies targeted chain retail stores at 6500 Castor Ave. (Nov. 9) and 5300 Whitaker Ave. (Nov. 1), a bakery at 1900 Cottman Ave. (Nov. 9), an apartment house at 4700 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 9) and a bank at 2200 Cottman Ave. (Oct. 30).

There were eight aggravated assaults that resulted in three arrests. David Montanez, 41, and Jalissa Gonzalez, 29, were arrested following domestic assaults on the street of 6100 Palmetto St. (Oct. 31) and a private residence at 800 Scattergood St. (Nov. 3), respectively. Madeline Guzman, 33, was arrested Nov. 11 following an assault involving a weapon at a bar or cafe at 6700 Castor Ave. Other assaults happened on the street, including twice at 6700 Castor Ave. (Nov. 1) involving a handgun, 5900 Shisler St. (Oct. 29), a domestic assault at 5900 Belden St. (Nov. 2) and a domestic assault at an apartment house at 1200 Levick St. (Nov. 1).

Three of the four burglaries happened at private residences. These took place at 1000 Van Kirk St. (Oct. 30), 500 Van Kirk St. (Oct. 30) and 500 Allengrove St. (Oct. 31). Nasir Scott, 18, was arrested Nov. 11 following a robbery at an apartment house at 6400 Castor Ave.

There were 70 thefts, which targeted 38 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 25 businesses, five street thefts (including a purse snatching), a private residence and a day care facility. Eight arrests were made. In addition, 16 vehicles were reported stolen, 11 of which have been recovered. Three arrests were made.

7th Police District

There were three robberies, which took place at a bank at 8000 Verree Road (Oct. 29), a chain hardware store at 11700 Bustleton Ave. (Nov. 5) and on the street at 8200 Bustleton Ave. (Oct. 31).

Christa Gwen Wharton, 48, was arrested Nov. 10 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 9800 Wistaria St.

The only burglary targeted an apartment house at 2100 Rhawn St. on Nov. 6.

There were 28 thefts, which targeted 18 vehicles (including a stolen carphone and two vehicle tags), seven businesses, two street thefts and a private residence. Seven arrests were made. In addition, seven vehicles were reported stolen, four of which have been recovered.

8th Police District

Both robberies took place on the street. A vehicle at 8600 Roosevelt Blvd. was robbed with a handgun on Nov. 7. The other took place on the street at 3400 Red Lion Road on Oct. 29 and did not involve weapons.

There were eight aggravated assaults that resulted in three arrests. Assaults took place at private residences at 4400 Carwithan Road (Nov. 1) and twice at 3600 Bellaire Place (Nov. 4), which saw the arrest of David Kroner, 47. Assaults on the street took place at 3300 Holme Ave. (Nov. 10) and 3400 Red Lion Road (Nov. 2), which resulted in the arrest of Carl Brown, 54. Two assaults took place at prison facilities at 8200 State Road (Nov. 5) and 8000 State Road (Nov. 1). A domestic assault took place at a restaurant at 9000 Ashton Road (Nov. 3).

All six burglaries took place at private residences or apartment houses. Burglaries that targeted private residences were at 3900 Grant Ave. (Nov. 4), 2700 Springhouse Road (Nov. 11), 4100 Stanwood St. (Nov. 1) and 3200 Byberry Road (Nov. 11). Apartment houses were targeted at 3500 Woodhaven Road (Nov. 6) and 9200 Blue Grass Road (Nov. 7).

There were 35 thefts, which targeted 14 businesses, 12 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), six street thefts, two bicycles and a private residence. Four arrests were made. In addition, 10 vehicles were reported stolen, three of which have been recovered.

15th Police District

There were 21 robberies that yielded seven arrests. Robberies that took place on the street and involved handguns happened at 4200 Romain St. (Oct. 30), 4500 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 5) and 3100 Levick St. (Nov. 6). Robberies that took place on the street that did not involve weapons happened at 1600 Haworth St. (Nov. 10, Lyrad Locke-Harrison, 23), the intersection at Large and Harrison streets (Oct. 29), 2100 Orthodox St. (Oct. 30), 5200 Penn St. (Oct. 31), 4300 Orchard St. (Nov. 2, Tasha Matthews, 36), 6200 Montague St. (Nov. 3, Montez Harley, 19), 4900 Mulberry St. (Nov. 6), 2000 Scattergood St. (Nov. 8), 5400 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 8, Ambrose Rogers, 31), 5400 Oakland St. (Nov. 9), 2200 Simon St. (Nov. 9) and 6000 Tulip St. (Nov. 11). Chain retail stores were robbed at 6900 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 1, Ann Bobbi Hammel, 23) and 7100 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 9, Lashawn Shaunte N. Bean, 27). An apartment house at 4300 Tackawanna St. was robbed Nov. 3, and private residences were robbed at 7200 Vandike St. (Nov. 2, Shawn Ruiz, 22) and 2200 Simon St. (Nov. 8). A bank at 7100 Frankford Ave. was robbed with a handgun Nov. 9.

There were 21 aggravated assaults, which resulted in five arrests. Domestic assaults took place at private residences at 3100 Windish St. (Nov. 3, Joseph Duffy, 40), 2900 Devereaux Ave. (Nov. 5), 4700 Loring St. (Nov. 9), 1500 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Oct. 30), 4100 Hellerman St. (Nov. 1) and 4900 Penn St. (Nov. 10, Daisean Nsir, 24) and an apartment house at 6100 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 5). Assaults at private residences involving no weapons took place at 6500 Keystone St. (Nov. 2, Megan Noel, 32) and 6600 Vandike St. (Nov. 11). Three child abuse incidents took place at private residences at 6300 Gillespie St. (Nov. 1), 7100 Jackson St. (Oct. 29) and on the street at 6300 Marsden St. (Nov. 3). Assaults on the street involving handguns took place at 4100 Unruh Ave. (Nov. 2, Alan Early-Johnson, 22), 1900 Fillmore Place (Nov. 8), 4700 Meridian St. (Nov. 9) and 4600 Shelmire Ave. (Nov. 10, Kris Alderman, 39). Assaults on the street involving knives or other weapons took place twice at 5400 Akron St. (Nov. 4) and 4600 Leiper St. (Nov. 9). An assault not involving a weapon took place on the street at 5200 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 7). A domestic assault took place on the street at 3200 Fanshawe St. on Oct. 29.

There were 23 burglaries, most of which took place at private residences. These took place at 2600 Orthodox St. (Nov. 2), 5400 Hawthorne St. (Nov. 3), 6000 Vandike St. (Nov. 7), 4700 Northwood St. (Nov. 90), 5000 Cottage St. (Nov. 11), 2600 Haworth St. (Nov. 5), 1200 Pratt St. (Nov. 6), 6600 Keystone St. (Nov. 7), 2600 Haworth St. (Nov. 7), 4300 Paul St. (Oct. 29), 4400 Paul St. (Oct. 30), 1900 Church St. (Nov. 5) and 4500 McKinley St. (Nov. 9). Javier Rivera, 45, was arrested Oct. 29 following a burglary at a private residence at 1500 Harrison St. Some burglaries took place at businesses such as a clothing store at 6400 Torresdale Ave. (Oct. 29), twice at a department store at 6300 Ditman St. (Nov. 6 and 9), a gas station at 6400 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 6) and a storage facility at 6300 Tacony St. (Nov. 8). Others took place on the street at 4600 Bath St. (Oct. 30), at a bank at 4300 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 29), at a church at 4200 Paul St. (Nov. 4) and a private school at 7300 Torresdale Ave. (Nov. 10).

There were 94 thefts, which targeted 42 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and four stolen vehicle tags), 22 businesses, 17 street thefts (including two pickpocketings and a purse snatching), 10 private residences, an apartment house, an athletic field or playground and a SEPTA station. Eight arrests were made. In addition, 44 vehicles were reported stolen, 30 of which have been recovered. Two arrests were made. ••
