Northeast High School was briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday after authorities received reports of a person with a gun in the school.

No weapon was found and no one was hurt, according to School District of Philadelphia spokesman Lee Whack. He said district officials and police fully investigated the incident.

The lockdown began around 11:30 a.m. and lasted just over an hour.

Police officers were on the scene, and concerned parents showed up to check on students around the time the lockdown was lifted. ••
