Police investigating armed robbery at Grant Avenue pet store

A man pulled out a gun Jan. 11 during a robbery at the Pet Valu store on Grant Avenue near Blue Grass Road.

Police are looking for a man who pulled out a gun while robbing a pet store on Grant Avenue near Blue Grass Road.

Authorities said a black man entered the Pet Valu at the shopping plaza located at 2550 Grant Ave. around 8:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11. He pulled a black handgun and said “money now” to the cashier, according to police.

The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled in the direction of the LA Fitness gym, police said. Witnesses also saw him changing out of his black hooded sweatshirt into a neon green shirt, according to authorities.
