Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a bank Monday afternoon on the corner of Roosevelt Boulevard and Welsh Road.
The man entered the Wells Fargo at 9101 Roosevelt Blvd. around 3:30 p.m. and gave a threatening note to the teller, according to police. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the bank on foot heading southbound on the Boulevard before cutting through the parking lot going east on Welsh Road, authorities said.
Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid-to-late 20s. He is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall with an athletic build and a black beard, authorities said.
During the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a zipper over a green hooded sweatshirt. He was also wearing a white thermal shirt with long sleeves, dark sweatpants and a gray knit cap, according to police.
Authorities said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about him or the robbery is asked to call the FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Tipsters can remain anonymous. ••
