Police investigating after 85-year-old man robbed in Somerton

An elderly man who was using a money transfer machine inside a Bustleton Avenue CVS was robbed Feb. 21, authorities said.

Philadelphia Police provided surveillance video of the suspects wanted in connection with a robbery in Somerton.

Police are looking for two people who robbed an 85-year-old man who was using a money transfer machine inside a Somerton drugstore last month.

The suspects approached the man around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the CVS store at 10901 Bustleton Ave., according to police.

He was using the MoneyGram machine, and the suspects asked whether he needed help, authorities said. When he pulled money out of his pocket, one of the suspects ripped it from his hand and the other threw him to the ground, according to police.

The two people fled the store and crossed Bustleton Avenue toward the gas station and Ashley Court Apartments, authorities said.

Police did not release a description of the suspects.
