A pair of homeless women were arrested last week after authorities say they robbed an 85-year-old man and threw him to the ground inside a Somerton drugstore.

Rachel Engelmann, 25, and Madison Zaccario, 28, were charged Thursday with aggravated assault, robbery, theft and related offenses in connection with the incident, which occurred Feb. 21, at the CVS at 10901 Bustleton Ave., police said.

The man was using the MoneyGram machine when two people asked him whether he needed help, according to police. When he pulled money out of his pocket, one of the suspects ripped it from his hand and the other threw him to the ground.

Court records indicate both women are being held at the State Road prison complex on $75,000 bond. ••
