Police say a gunman shot a man multiple times — leaving him in critical condition — and hit a woman in his getaway car after an altercation early Sunday morning outside a Mayfair nightclub.
A 24-year-old man and a member of his family were leaving the club on the 7200 block of Frankford Avenue around 4 a.m. when he got involved in a dispute near the front door, authorities said.
The suspect ran to a red Dodge Charger and grabbed a 40-caliber handgun, police said. He fired multiple shots, hitting the 24-year-old man several times in the head and body, according to authorities.
As the Dodge Charger was fleeing the scene, it hit a 26-year-old woman and severely injured her legs, police said.
Both victims were taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. The man was listed in critical condition, and the woman was in stable condition, according to police.
Multiple news reports said the incident occurred outside Hush nightclub at 7217 Frankford Ave.
Authorities described the suspect as a black man age 26 to 30. He is around 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build and a beard, police said.
The Northeast Detective Division is actively investigating the shooting. ••
