Man killed in Rhawnhurst fire

A 26-year-old man died Monday afternoon in a house fire on the 7500 block of Alma Street in Rhawnhurst.

Firefighters responded to the scene just before 4 p.m. and found flames engulfing the first and second floors of the home, according to Capt. Derek Bowmer, of the Fire Department.

The man was discovered during a secondary search of the property and pronounced dead at the scene, Bowmer said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. ••
