The Northeast Times would like to congratulate the following college graduates, students who were named to their school’s dean’s list, and area residents who recently received special honors.

Students from the Bloomsburg University College of Science and Technology presented their research to an audience of students, faculty and alumni during the COST Research Day. More than 80 students from 11 fields of study showcased their work on a wide range of topics. Maurice Robinson presented research called “GeisingerAdvanced ID Module Development.” The project earned a top prize in Graduate Field-Based Research. Eric Hilbert presented research called “Efforts toward the Synthesis of New Catalysts for the Acceptorless Dehydrogenative Coupling Reaction.”

Morgan Priadka was one of 55 Albright College students who presented original artwork for the Freedman Gallery’s annual juried student exhibit. A graduate of MaST Community Charter School, Priadka is studying history at Albright.

The Cedar Crest College dean’s list recognizes students who have earned a grade point average of 3.65 or higher in the academic semester. Local members of the dean’s list are Andrea Abdale, Sierra Lockhart and Jennica Nugent.

Edwin Waters Jr., a Mayfair resident and 2012 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, graduated with a criminal justice degree from Arcadia University. He was a member of Arcadia’s men’s volleyball team. He plans to enroll in the Philadelphia Police Academy, with a goal of becoming a homicide detective.

Nearly 470 students celebrated their academic success and achievements during Lebanon Valley College’s 150th commencement. Caitlyn Berdel received a degree in early childhood education and special education. She is a graduate of St. Hubert High School. Raymond Gawronski received a degree in accounting. He is a graduate of MaST Community Charter.

More than 1,200 students were part of the Coastal Carolina University class of 2019. Among the graduates were Lynn Mackiewicz, who earned a degree in special education multi-categorical, and James Queen, who earned a degree in business administration/economics.

Tavion Rogers qualified for the dean’s list at Misericordia University. Students must have at least a 3.55 grade point average to make the dean’s list.

Michael Ademola graduated from Central Penn College and participated in the college’s 137th commencement ceremony in Harrisburg. Ademola received a degree in corporate communications.

Kutztown University’s Tamara Jennings, a Nazareth Academy graduate, has been selected to the first team All-Conference Commissioner’s Association Atlantic Region. Jennings enjoyed a breakout spring in her final season. The outfielder established career highs in batting average (.416), hits (72), runs scored (50), doubles (13), triples (three), home runs (seven), RBI (51), slugging percentage (.647), on-base percentage (.458) and stolen bases (14).

Bloomsburg University’s Board of Governors Scholars Program celebrated the graduation of 32 of its members. Local graduates of the program were Patricia Millan, Angela Montano and Nathalia Pena.

Students from the Bloomsburg University College of Liberal Arts presented their research to an audience of their peers during COLA Research and Creative Projects Day.

Michaela Maw presented a project titled “Gender roles and the Gender Pay Gap.”

Jahnae Wright presented a project titled “Domestic Violence.” ••
