A man who police say fatally shot his 60-year-old father Saturday night with an assault rifle inside a Bustleton home was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Massachusetts.
Sohan Panjrolia, 31, who has schizophrenia, allegedly shot his father in the head multiple times and fled the 1900 block of Conwell Avenue gun-in-hand, police said.
Officers responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and found Mahendra B. Panjrolia with significant gunshot wounds to his head. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said Sohan was home with his father and mother when he went upstairs and grabbed an assault rifle. After firing a shot inside a first-floor bathroom, he allegedly pointed the gun at his parents and fired multiple rounds.Â
Sohan left the house in a 1999 gray Toyota Camry, but officers found the vehicle unoccupied several blocks away.
He was on the loose for a couple of days before being tracked down by authorities Tuesday in Cambridge near Harvard University, where he previously attended as a student, according to Cambridge police. ••
