Man seriously injured in Frankford shooting

Police are looking for two men in connection with a shooting Tuesday morning near Arrott Transportation Center.

A 19-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in the back early Tuesday, Aug. 6, near Arrott Transportation Center in Frankford, police said.

Officers from the 15th Police District were in the area of Penn Street and Oxford Avenue when they heard gunfire coming from Frankford Avenue, according to authorities. 

Police found the victim lying on the ground at the corner of Arrott and Penn streets with a gunshot wound to his lower back. Officers rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

Authorities recovered a weapon but have not made any arrests. Police described the suspects as two black men ages 18 to 23.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday. The investigation is active and ongoing with Northeast Detectives. ••
