A 23-year-old man was killed Thursday night after two men broke into his Rhawnhurst home and shot him, police said.
Jeffrey Sandine was in his room on the second floor of a house on the 1900 block of Stanwood Street just after 8 p.m. when two men came through the front door of the property, authorities said.
Police were told the suspects ran up the stairs and pointed a gun at Sandine’s mother before going into his room and shooting him once in the chest. Officers rushed Sandine to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he died around 8:30 p.m.
The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.Â
Investigators believe Sandine was targeted, and nothing was stolen. However, the motive behind the killing is not clear.
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday. Authorities described the suspects as two black men. The Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting. ••
