Man fatally shot in Frankford

A 30-year-old man died after being shot Thursday on the 5200 block of Hawthorne Street.

A 30-year-old man died early Thursday morning after being shot multiple times in Frankford, police said.

Officers responded to the 5200 block of Hawthorne Street just after midnight and found the victim with gunshot wounds to his head, back, right thigh and hip. They rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he died a short time later, according to police.

Police identified the victim as Dontae Derrell Walker.

No weapon was recovered, and there’s been no word on any arrests.

CBS3 reported that at least 23 shots were fired and officers in the police department’s Real Time Crime Center watched the shooting unfold.

Homicide detectives are investigating. ••
