Man caught on camera stealing “poor box” from St. Dominic’s

Police are looking for a man who ripped a donation box from the wall at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holmesburg.

Police are looking for a man who went into St. Dominic Catholic Church and ripped a “poor box” off the wall.

The suspect, a white man, entered the church, at 8500 Frankford Ave. in Holmesburg, around 4 p.m. on Friday, police said. After trying to get money out of the box, he removed it from the wall and covered it with his jacket.

He left the church with the box, which is typically used to solicit donations for poor people in the community.
