A 29-year-old man was killed in a shooting Friday morning in Northwood, according to police.
Officers responded to a home on Oxford Avenue around 7:30 a.m. and found a man inside a residence with gunshot wounds to his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Authorities later identified the victim as Jamil Battle, of the 3800 block of N. Sydenham Street in North Philadelphia.
Homicide detectives are actively investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday.
Police did not release any additional information. ••
