Double shooting in Tacony leaves man dead

A 24-year-old man died and another man was injured after a suspect shot into a car on the 7000 block of Algard Street.

A 24-year-old was killed and another man was injured after gunfire erupted Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Tacony.

Officers responded to the 7000 block of Algard Street around 8:30 p.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds inside a car.

Alex Rodriquez, who lived on the block, was shot several times, authorities said. Police rushed him to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he died just before 9 p.m. A 23-year-old man who was with Rodriquez was shot once in the back and is in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday. A suspect in a hoodie was last seen running down Walker Street, investigators said. Homicide detectives continue to investigate. ••
