Grey Nun president receives community leader award

Sister Denise Roche, president of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, 14500 Bustleton Ave., was honored with the Community Leader of the Year Award by Gerard Place in Buffalo, New York.

Gerard Place provides support and housing for single-parent families who have experienced poverty, homelessness and domestic or substance abuse. The agency provides individuals with services such as counseling, education, vocational training, employment and life skills classes.
