Homicide detectives investigating death of 2-year-old

A toddler died Tuesday after being found unresponsive inside a home in Oxford Circle.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy after he was found inside a home in Oxford Circle.

Officers responded around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, to a report of an unresponsive child at a home on the 5900 block of Shisler Street, police said. Jasah Hicks was transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where he died at 6:20 p.m., authorities said.

Police were called by the toddler’s stepfather, who found him in a bedroom. 

Jasah died from blunt impact injuries to his torso, a spokesman for the Medical Examiner’s Office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday. Detectives continue to investigate the incident. ••
