Man killed in Tacony shooting

A 24-year-old died after being shot Monday night on the 6700 block of Jackson Street.

Homicide detectives are investigating after a shooting in Tacony left a 24-year-old man dead.

Officers responded at 6:53 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, to the 6700 block of Jackson Street (near Unruh Avenue) for a report of a man with a gun. They found the Ramid Purnell, of the 8000 block of Erdrick Street, with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he died just after 7:30 p.m., according to police.

Investigators believe the Purnell was targeted, but the motive behind the killing is unclear.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday. ••
