Proceeds from the bipartisan Dec. 5 event went to Northeast Victim Service, 8014 Castor Ave., and the Tom Raiker Scholarship Fund, named in memory of a 57th Ward, 21st Division Democratic committeeman who died suddenly last year.

The scholarship fund helps pay for tuition and books for high school and college students who are Northeast residents. Raiker was a graduate of North Catholic High School.

Among those in attendance were former Sheriff Barbara Deeley; state Rep. Ed Neilson; city elections commissioner Lisa Deeley; City Councilmen Al Taubenberger and Bobby Henon; and Superior Court Judge-elect Dan McCaffery. ••
