A 31-year-old man was walking home after parking his car Thursday night in Lower Mayfair when he was stabbed during an attempted robbery, police said.

The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. on the 2600 block of Levick Street, authorities said. The victim told officers he was stopped by a man who pulled out a small knife and demanded his belongings.

A struggle ensued, as the victim tried to knock the man’s knife away, police said. The 31-year-old ended up getting stabbed in the left side of his chest, authorities said. He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.
