Florence Devor celebrated her 100th birthday Jan. 21 with cake, balloons, live music and a tiara alongside staff members and fellow residents at Harmony Place Assisted Living.

“Thank you everybody,” Devor told employees who made a fuss over her big day. She has lived at Harmony Place, 8420 Roosevelt Blvd., for about six years.

“I don’t feel any different, thank God,” she said. “I was happy to reach this age with not too much going on.”

Devor graduated from Simon Gratz High School and is a longtime Northeast resident. She was a member of the Congregations of Shaare Shamayim and has three children and several grandchildren.

Her secret to reaching 100? Just be good, she said.

“I tried to do the right thing,” Devore added. ••
