HS seniors can apply for scholarship

Simon Youth Foundation will help a deserving graduating high school senior living near Philadelphia Mills pursue a college education.

Students may apply through Feb. 19 at syf.org/scholarships.

Scholarship recipients are eligible for a one-time $1,500 scholarship, which may be applied to tuition at an accredited college, university, vocational or technical school.

Students who will be graduating high school in 2020 and live in the community surrounding Philadelphia Mills are eligible.

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic promise, financial need, written response, work experience as well as community and extracurricular involvement. Recipients will be notified in May. ••

Job search help

Get help with your resume, job search and interviewing skills with CareerLink at Northeast Regional Library, 2228 Cottman Ave., on Fridays through March.

The dates and times are Feb. 21 at 10 a.m., Feb. 28 and March 13 and 27 at 1 p.m. and March 6 and 20 at 10:30 a.m.

The sessions are free, and no registration is required. ••

Wine tasting at St. Hubert

St. Hubert High School’s Alumnae Association will host a wine-tasting event on Friday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria, near the Ditman Street entrance.

Tickets cost $35 and include 12 wine pairings, cheese, chocolate and Girl Scout cookies.

Ryan lacrosse hosting Quizzo

The Archbishop Ryan lacrosse team will sponsor a Quizzo Night on Friday, Feb. 21, in the south cafeteria, 11201 Academy Road.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Quizzo begins at 7:30.

Tickets cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tables of eight or more can be reserved.

The evening will include BYOB/snacks, 50/50, raffle baskets, extra cash round, cash prize and mulligans.

Neil Diamond tribute at Knights of Columbus

The Regina Coeli Council Knights of Columbus, 9621 James St., will host a fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Frank DeRosa will perform a tribute to Neil Diamond.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show at 8. Tickets cost $40 and include open bar and buffet.

Benefit for St. Patrick’s parade

The St. Patrick’s Day Observance Association will be holding a benefit to support the 250th St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The benefit will take place on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, 11630 Caroline Road.

Tickets cost $40, or $20 for children 16 or younger. There will be food, domestic draft beer, live Irish bands, baskets of cheer and performances by the Emerald Pipe & Drum and Cummins School of Irish Dance.

Guests will have a chance to meet parade marshal Michael J. Bradley Jr. and Ring of Honor selections Louie Bradley, John Brennan, Thomas Dooley, Daniel Gallagher, Sheila Hess, Maureen McGrory Lisowski, Michael Remshard, Sister Mary Ellen Tennity, IHM and Bill Whitman.

The parade theme is 250 Years of Faith, Family, Friendship and Heritage.
