A group of masked men robbed a pizza delivery driver and shot at him as he tried to get away Wednesday night in Oxford Circle, police said.
The 29-year-old man, who delivers for Castor Pizza, 6038 Castor Ave., was called to the 5900 block of Algon Avenue just before 11 p.m. When he arrived, he was confronted by a group of men, two of whom were armed with handguns, police said.
They shoved the driver over a knee-high fence and went through his pockets, taking between $100 and $150 in cash, police said. He got up and ran back toward his car, which another man was rooting through.
He was able to jump in the driver’s seat, and, as he was driving away, the group fired nine shots at him. Police said seven bullets hit his car, but the driver was not injured.Â
No arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing with Northeast Detectives.
The group, described as four or five black men wearing all black clothing, was last seen heading north on Algon. ••
