Family members of Esther Lyons visited Harmony Place Assisted Living on Monday to celebrate her 105th birthday.

Esther sat on a chair on the porch of Harmony Place, 8420 Roosevelt Blvd., and her daughter and other loved ones wished her a happy birthday from a safe distance.

The crowd sang Happy Birthday, and Esther received cards, flowers, candy, balloons, old framed pictures and a citation from state Rep. Ed Neilson. Her guests had cake and cupcakes, with the young ones also getting party bags.

Esther, a Holmesburg native, is the matriarch of a sixth-generation family. ••
