Feeding the hungry in Lawncrest

The Lawncrest Community Association and state Rep. Jared Solomon last week teamed to distribute almost 800 boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables, nearly 600 gallons of milk and other items.

Joining Solomon were car dealer Gary Barbera, 2nd Police District community relations officer Mark Mroz and crime prevention officer Maureen Ciamaichelo and Lawncrest Community Association president Bill Dolbow and other members of the LCA.

ShopRite donated cans of apricots, while Peace Islands Institute PA provided ground beef.

The next food giveaway will take place on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. in the St. William Catholic Church/MaST Charter School parking lot, 6200 Rising Sun Ave. ••
