Cornhole tourney benefits St. Martha/Ryan student

St. Martha principal Karen Donofry and Cheryl Kontogeorgos, an organizer of the cornhole tournament and friend of the Gerner family.

Organizers of the annual Coty Gerner Memorial Cornhole Tournament last week made a $1,000 donation to St. Martha Elementary School.

Gerner was a St. Martha and Archbishop Ryan High School graduate. He died in 2018 at age 24.

The second annual tournament will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ryan. The cost is $40 for a team of two. Proceeds benefit a St. Martha graduate who goes on to attend Ryan.

To make a donation of cash, items or gift baskets or for more information about the event, search the 2nd Annual Coty Gerner Memorial Cornhole Tournament on Facebook. ••
