The FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the man responsible for the attempted robbery of the Bank of America branch located at 2118 Cottman Ave.
At about 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 24, the man entered the bank, approached the counter and handed a demand note to a teller. When the teller asked what he wanted, he made a verbal threat and demand for money. The teller fled the counter area, and the man fled the bank empty-handed.
The suspect was described as a white male, about 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants with a red stripe down the legs, red baseball cap, dark-colored shoes and a multi-colored face mask, and had a tattoo on his neck.
This suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is urged to call the task force at 215-418-4000.
A reward is being offered for information leading to this suspect’s capture. Tipsters can remain anonymous. ••
